Phone Scam. Conewango Twp. Police were contacted by an elderly female resident of the township who reported having been contacted by an unknown number/individual in reference to her "grandson". She was told to send money, $2,500, to have her "grandson" released from jail. Further investigation found that the caller was from Canada and the "grandson" was not in jail. Police remind citizens to be cautious when receiving calls such as this and to verify information before make any money transfer.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported that at 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 18, a crash occurred when a 2012 Chevrolet 1500 veered off the roadway and became stuck in the ditch on the eastbound berm of Farnsworth Rd. The driver said that he had been drinking. He denied needing any medical attention. His car was towed from the scene. The driver was charged with DUI.
Lost Firearm. Warren-based state police reported that between 8 and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 17, a known 67-year-old male reported that he lost an H&R revolver while trapping in the areas of Egypt Rd. and Priest Hollow Rd., or the Wright Rd. area, Pinegrove or Glade Twp. Anyone finding the firearm is required to turn it in to PSP Warren.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported that at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 18, Abraham S. Kibbey, 24, Pittsfield, was traveling north on Page Hollow Rd. in a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, when he slid off the roadway into a ditch and overturned multiple times. Kibbey had major injury and was transported from scene by an ambulance. He was also charged with Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Criminal Mischief. Warren-based state police reported that between Nov. 24 and Dec. 19 at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #75 on Tollgate Rd., an unknown person damaged approximately 625 sq. ft. of yard/sod by doing donuts with an unknown type ATV. The person fled the scene in an unknown direction. Anyone having any information pertaining to this investigation is asked to contact PSP Warren or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
