Dare to Care
screening set
Dare to Care, a free screening for the community, will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 9, 2013 at Warren Holiday Inn. The program, created by Warren native John D. Martin, M.D., assesses patient risk for cardiovascular disease.
The event will be run by Dr. Paul Bialas, a Warren Medical Group internal medicine physician, and will include lab work to measure lipid profile and blood glucose, an ultrasound of the carotid arteries, aorta, and circulation in the legs, along with a consultation from a nurse practitioner who will analyze the results and assess the patient risk for cardiovascular disease.
Any person over the age of 60 who has not participated in the past five years is encouraged to attend along with anyone over 50 who has risk factors such as a history of smoking, hyptertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemic, or cardiac history.
Insurance is not required for the event and the event is free.
