Arnold O. "Kite" Russ, 74, of Pulfer Hill Rd., Pittsfield, Pa., died at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

He was born on September 1, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Lawrence and Frances Russ.

Kite was born and raised in the Spring Creek, Garland and Pittsfield, Pa. areas. As a young man, he started working at the Irvine Wood Products and worked there for over 45 years. He retired as a supervisor in 1998. He had also been a rural delivery route driver for the Warren TimesObserver for a year.

Kite loved spending time with his grandchildren and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and 4wheeling. He was a Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan and a football fan, especially the Buffalo Bills.

In addition to his parents, Kite was preceded in death on September 10, 1999 by his wife, Dorothy Marie "Dot" Bromley Russ, whom he married on March 15, 1969 in Elgin, Pa., and by a sister and a brother.

Kite is survived by a daughter Carrie Walton of Pittsfield, Pa., four sisters, four brothers, five grandchildren Christopher, Jr., Teasha, Devin, Hannah and Destinie, five sistersinlaw and four brothersinlaw. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the Garland Presbyterian Church, Route 27, Garland, Pa. Lay Pastor Timothy Olsen will officiate.

A luncheon will follow the service at the Garland Firehall.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa. 16407.
