JOHNSONBURG - Sheffield closed from a 14-point deficit in the first half to 11 at halftime, but couldn't close the gap in the 55-40 District 9 loss to Johnsonburg.
Sheffield lost by closer to 30 last year, and held leading-scorer Brittany Watts to nine points, but the Wolverines trailed by 18 points after three.
Jen Isenberg led Sheffield (1-3) with 14 and Abby Labesky added 13, and both players made three 3-pointers in the loss.
Labesky added six assists.

OIL CITY - Eisenhower struggled in a non-region loss at Oil City, evening its record at 2-2.
"I think we struggled a little tonight controlling their post player and, on our end, we didn't execute as well as we should have," said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue.
Kristen Williams led the Knights with nine points.
