The Lady Eagles dropped a heartbreaking Region 3 opener Thursday night, 42-40, to Maplewood at Youngsville High School.
Youngsville led 36-31 after three quarters, but was outscored by the visitors 11-4 in the fourth as they fall to 0-3 on the year.
"We did some things well, and we did some things wrong that we never do," said Eagles coach Dave Becker. "We need to work on the little things at this point. It's all about consistency."

Thursday's game marked the second straight single-digit loss for the Eagles following a 51-44 loss to Sheffield in the Warren County Tip-Off Classic.
Maplewood was led by strong performances from Liz Miller and Emily Merritt, who scored 14 and 10 points, respectively. Kennedy Cratty finished with 15 points for the Eagles, including 10 in the third quarter, while Karissa Cratty added 12 points of her own.
Youngsville will look to bounce back Monday when it travels to Seneca for a non-region game against the Bobcats.
The Tigers claimed a victory in the junior varsity game, 27-14. Jorie Clark's six points paced the Eagles in defeat.
