Here is the varsity slate of action for county winter sports teams for Thursday:
THURSDAY'S SCHEDULE
Girls Basketball: Maplewood at Youngsville, 6 p.m.
Wrestling: Cathedral Prep at Warren, 6 p.m.
Sheffield at Oswayo Valley, 6 p.m.
Freshmen hoops
Warren defeated Meadville, 42-27, in freshmen boys basketball action Tuesday at Warren Area High School. Evan Suppa led the winners with 17 points, Ryan Skerda finished with eight points, Devin Nowacki added seven points, Sheldon McMeans had four points and Anthony Citro, Anthony Deppas and Andrew Gignac all scored two points apiece. The team returns to action Saturday, facing Elk County Catholic in the 4:15 p.m. finals of the Elk County Catholic Tip-off Tournament.
