SHINGLEHOUSE - Fourteen Lady Knights scored on Wednesday in a 62-20 non-region win at Oswayo Valley.

"I've been really pushing this year to get everybody working on the same page," said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue, whose Knights are 2-1 overall, "and I think that's only going to be beneficial for us down the stretch."

Lyssa Knapp and Kristen Williams had eight points each for Eisenhower, Holly Chapman and Danielle Bradish scored seven each, and Dakota Williams and Alyssa Peterson scored six points each for Ike, which had 20 players see action.

Logue said there is a stretch in the season in which the Knights play eight games in 11 days, "so we're going to need a deep bench."

Kane 70, Sheffield 43

The Lady Wolverines got off to a rocky start in their District-9 opener Wednesday night, dropping a 70-43 contest to Kane at Sheffield High School.

The Wolves, which return four starters from last year's PIAA state-qualifying team, including their three leading scorers, controlled the game from the opening tip, and handed the Wolverines their second loss of the season.

"(Kane) is most likely the best team we'll see this year," said Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky. "We got out rebounded. You can't give up three or four shots (a possession) against quality teams."

Jen Isenberg paced the Wolverines, offensively, with a 20-point effort, and Ashley Davidson chipped in nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

"The girls didn't give up," said Labesky, whose Wolverines trailed 19-7 after one quarter. "They played hard to the last buzzer."

Kane also earned a hard-fought win in the junior varsity game, 38-33. Mariah Fitzgerald led the scoring for Sheffield with 14 points to go along with 24 rebounds.

The Wolverines (1-2) will look to get back on the winning track Friday when they travel to Johnsonburg to take on the Rams in another AML-North game.
