Scouts lend

helping hand

Girl Scouts Western PA Daisy Troop 36211 members recently decided to use some of the Girl Scout Nut & Candy profit they earned this fall as a community service to purchase a new Daisy uniform, needed pins and Daisy Petals for a girl who lost everything during Hurricane Sandy in New York or New Jersey.

They joined the group "Operation be a Sister", which is taking monetary donations and new uniforms to help replace those who have lost theirs. They are hoping to make someone's Christmas a little brighter this year with a new uniform needed for Girl Scouting. This package along with the cards the girls made are on their way. More information for the cause can be found on Facebook under "Operation be a Sister"

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to ring the bells at Tops and Dollar General in Youngsville every Friday and Saturday until December 22. If you are interested, please contact Margaret Rosequist or Kari Degnan at Northwest Savings Bank at 563-9080 to sign up for a date and time.

There will also be an Angel Tree with tags for the Salvation Army at the Youngsville Northwest Savings Bank branch. Everyone is welcome to stop by to pick up a tag and provide an unwrapped gift. The gifts will need to be returned to the Northwest Savings Bank in Youngsville by the due date on the tag. All money and gifts collected will benefit Youngsville area residents.
