Phillip Horner, 91, of Norberg Rd., Russell, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1921 in Scandia, the son of Karl and Eugenia Engholm Horner.
Before retiring, he had worked at the former Malleable Iron for fortythree years and prior to that, he had owned and operated a dairy farm in Akeley, where he currently resided.

He loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, the outdoors, cutting wood, and working with his tractor.
Phil is survived by two daughters: Beverly (Larry) Swanson of Falconer and Judy (Gary) Carlson of Kiantone; a son Ken (Peggy) Horner of Hurricane, Utah; seventeen grandchildren and twelve greatgrand children.
He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Johnson Horner, whom he married March 31, 1942, and who died in 1995, a daughter, Cynthia Horner in 1977, a son, Herb Horner in 2005, five brothers: Yngve, Carl, and Clarence Harner, Herbert and Roy Horner.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Ronald Lemon, pastor of the Koinonia Christian Fellowship, Frewsburg, will officiate. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Akeley.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
