BOYS HOOPS: WCCS Lions drop to 0-2; Eisenhower loses at home

MEADVILLE - The Warren County Christian School Lions dropped to 0-2 on the young season after a 59-25 loss to the Meadville Calvary Baptist Thunder on Tuesday.

The two senior members of the Lions - Carson Moore and Josh Wagonseller accounted for the most of the team's scoring with 24 of the team's 25 points. Wagonseller had a team-high 16 markers and Moore finished with eight. Tommy Jones was the other Lion to work his way into the box score.

WCCS coach Tom Jones said that Moore had "a strong game on the glass" and that the underclassmen "really stepped up their game tonight."

Calvary Baptist also won the junior varsity game, 40-19. Dan Lauffenburger's eight points led WCCS.

The team will look for its first victory Tuesday when it hosts Jamestown Bethel.

Erie First Christian Academy 56, Eisenhower 49

Aaron Lundmark scored 25 points, but Eisenhower trailed the entire game in a non-league loss at Eisenhower High School.

The Knights (1-2) - at Oswayo Valley on Wednesday - trailed 35-20 at halftime.

"We did play better in the second half," said Eisenhower coach Dave Allenson.

No more details on the varsity game were provided.
