Oil book released

December 11, 2012
The Times Observer

The Warren County Historical Society is pleased to announce the publication of a new book featuring Warren County oil history. Author Paul Adomites spent many hours researching within the Warren County Historical Society's archives to compile the information for "Oil Fields-Oil People: Re-imaginings of the Great Stories of the Early Days of Pennsylvania Oil." According to historical society managing director Michelle Gray, "This new publication focused on local oil history includes a chapter on the life of Henry Rouse. We all are familiar with the Rouse Home and the great legacy that Henry Rouse provided to the local area, but there is a tragic story surrounding Henry Rouse's great bequest. Paul Adomites captures the Henry Rouse story and tells it with passion and respect. This book is a great addition to local historic collections."

There are several local history books available for purchase, along with many discounts for the holiday season. The Warren County Historical Society hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 723-1795 or visit www.warrenhistory.org.
