Warren's defense was too much for Eisenhower to overcome as the Dragons doubled up the Knights, 54-27, on Saturday.
After a close first quarter, the Dragons (2-0) began to distance themselves from the Knights with a 19-point second quarter. The Dragons then held the Knights to nine total points in the second half.
"It was good for us to start the season with two wins," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman. "We made some good adjustments throughout the game."

It’s a stretch

In a different format than in past years, Warren, Eisenhower, Sheffield and Youngsville got together at Warren Area High School Friday and Saturday to open the season with a Warren County Tip-off Classic round-robin format, rather than a tournament. Warren is a Class AAA team and Eisenhower Class A by school size.
Jaimie Eaton crept closer to 1,000 career points as she led Warren with 23 markers in game two. Freshman D.J. Hahn was next with 12. Transfer Kari Santo led the Dragons with seven steals and was "was phenomenal defensively," according to Ruhlman, whose Dragons host Oil City in a non-region game on Tuesday.
Paige Wilson and Brittni Merenick each had eight rebounds and Alexa Bupp had five assists for the Dragons.
Alyssa Peterson led Eisenhower with six points.
"We chose the right defense for them, opting to go for a 2-3 zone, and in the first quarter it kind of gave them some fits," said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue, whose Knights (1-1) are at Oswayo Valley on Wednesday. "The second quarter kind of got away from us, they made three 3's and opened it up a little bit.
"The third quarter was really the difference," he said. "(Overall,) I thought we played well at times, and at times we had some letdowns."
Peterson had five rebounds and Dacota Williams three assists.

Sheffield 51, Youngsville 44
Saturday's girls contest between Sheffield and Youngsville was the kind of game you hope to see between two county rivals.
The Wolverines edged the Eagles to improve to 1-1 on the year, while Youngsville drops to 0-2 with the loss.
"I think we turned a corner with the program tonight," said Sheffield coach Jeff Labesky. "We scored 47 yesterday and 51 today. The offense is clicking and we're learning how to win the close games."
Following a slow first quarter, both teams took off offensively in a game that saw plenty of action in the free throw department. Sheffield finished 12-of-21 from the line while Youngsville finished 13-for- 23 in a game that went back-and-forth until the Wolverines were able to put it way in the final minutes.
Jen Isenberg led all scorers with 19 points, while teammate Hannah Vile chipped in 12 of her own in the winning effort. Sophomore Tierra Hansen played a major role off the bench scoring all five of her points in the fourth quarter.
For the Eagles, sisters Karissa and Kennedy Cratty finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Wolverines will look to make it two in a row Wednesday night when they host AML North opponent Kane at Sheffield High School. Youngsville opens its home schedule Thursday with a region match-up against Maplewood.
