A candle-lighting service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Praise Fellowship Church in Russell.
This will be the eighth annual gathering by the Friend to Friend Support Group for parents who have lost children. The candle-lighting service will also include a few readings, some music and a gathering afterwards. Family members are encouraged to bring a photo, a keepsake, a poem, or a song that they hold close to their hearts.
"This year the service coincides with the Compassionate Friends worldwide candle-lighting service," said Andrew Edwards of Friend to Friend.
The support group meets regularly on the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Family Services of Warren County on the Warren State Hospital grounds. A website is also available for those who are interested (friend2friendpa.blogspot.com). The website provides an overall description of what the group provides and a calendar with additional information.
