ROMONA BAKER

Romona Jean (Henry) Baker, age 87, of Tionesta, Pa., formerly of Pleasantville, Pa., went to be with her loving Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Titusville Area Hospital. She was born May 10, 1925 in New Bethlehem, Pa., daughter of the late Arthur L. and V. Blanche (Carmichael) Henry. On February 28, 1948 at the Tionesta United Methodist Church, she married Garwood Baker who died June 19, 1991. Romona graduated from Tionesta High School class of 1943 and attended Westminster College for Business Administration. During World War II she was a "Rosie the Riveter" in Buffalo, NY building airplanes. She also worked at General Electric in Erie, Pa. and in addition to being a homemaker, she held several jobs over the years at the Titusville School District and at Peterson's Golden Dawn in Pleasantville. She really enjoyed family gettogethers, reading, playing pinochle, Sudoku puzzles, putting puzzles together, and visiting with her family and friends. She attended the Tionesta Christian Missionary Alliance Church.

Surviving are 2 sons, Mark Baker and his wife Kathy of Tionesta; Randall J. Baker of Pleasantville. 2 daughters, Dawnette Pollard and her husband Lanny of Pleasantville; Lou Ellen McGill and her husband Thomas of Titusville.

3 grandsons, Jamie Baker and his wife Amy of Titusville; Justin Baker and his wife Erin of State College, Pa; Doug McGill of Pittsburgh, Pa. 3 granddaughters, Jenna Knocke and her husband Ethan of State College; Molly McGill of Titusville; Laura Pollard of France. A greatgranddaughter, Avery Baker. A brother, Byron Henry of Virginia Beach, VA. A sister, Evelyn Handy of Afton, Oklahoma. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Romona was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elton Henry, and in infancy, Dean Henry. There will be no public visitation. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2 pm at the Tionesta Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor James R. Evilsizor, officiating. Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
