While Santa Claus won't be coming with gifts until Christmas, he made a stopover in Youngsville on Thursday night.
Santa, riding on a horse-drawn wagon with Mrs. Claus giving the reindeer a break in advance of their big night later this month highlighted the Youngsville Hometown Christmas festivities.
The parade started on N. Main Street and proceeded through town on W. Main Street to the intersection with Railroad Street. Several hundred people lined the short path to welcome Santa to town as part of the celebration.

Ho, ho, ho!
Youngsville welcomed Santa Claus during a parade held as part of Youngsville’s Hometown Christmas festivities on Thursday night.
Escorting Santa along the route were Youngsville's Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Santa then made an appearance in front of PNC Bank for a tree lighting.
Before the tree was lit, Youngsville Mayor James Farr thanked everyone for coming. He told the crowd around the tree that he had a lot he could say about Christmas but wanted to focus on priorities. He then read the passage of Scripture read by Linus in the Charlie Brown Christmas show and reminded those listening "don't ever forget the real reason for the season."
Santa proceeded to the Youngsville Public Library where he took Christmas wishes from the children.
Tonight, he'll be in Warren.
