In the season of giving, the crew at Help-Portrait will be doing a lot of taking.

Taking pictures, that is.

Then the giving part comes in.

Help-Portrait returns to Warren

Volunteers - stylists and photographers - with the program will provide hair and makeup services and a free portrait for each person who attends the second annual Help Portrait event in Warren, from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The worldwide event, now in its fifth year, offers the opportunity of a free portrait to people who many not otherwise have been able to afford one. "Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers using their time, gear, and expertise to give back to those in need," according to the program's website.

The idea is to furnish the lasting memory represented by a portrait to individuals and families in need.

"We will be giving away free 8x10 prints for anyone who comes," photographer Jeremy Jeziorski, who is hosting the Warren event at his 310 Second Ave. studio, said.

Professional portraits and styling are only part of the deal. There will be food and beverages contributed by local businesses, giveaways, and holiday movies to provide entertainment for those who are waiting.

"And a whole lot of smiles," Jeziorski said.
