The Warren Area Ministerial Association will sponsor ecumenical community Advent services at noon on three Thursdays beginning December 6. These half-hour "lunchtime" worship opportunities feature special music and an Advent message given by area clergy. A "soup and cake" luncheon will follow each service, at 12:30 p.m. for $4 to benefit a summer youth mission program, The Pittsburgh Project.
The service schedule is as follows:
Thursday, Dec. 6: Rev. Doug McCracken, Warren Alliance Church, preaching; Dr. Jeff Sterling, First United Methodist Church, Liturgist.
Thursday, Dec. 13: Dr. Jeff Sterling, First United Methodist Church, preaching; Rev. C.D. Moore, Warren Wesleyan Church, Liturgist.
Thursday, Dec. 20: Rev. Jon Swart, retired pastor of Cable Hollow Church, preaching; Rev. Dorothy Hilliard, Faith Fellowship Church, Liturgist.
These services are open to the public. A "free will" offering is received at the door to help support summer campground ministry at Chapman State Park and at Buckaloons.
