New officers lead Ridge Runners

December 3, 2012
The Times Observer

New officers took the reins at the Nov. 28 meeting of the Kinzua Ridge Runners 4-H horse club. Mikayla Holden, president, called the meeting to order, then Katie Avenali, vice president and secretary, took attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge were led by Hannah Schmader, pledge leader. Alex Barr, treasurer, reported on club finances.

Avanelli gave a report on using figure eight exercises to help improve a barrel pattern. Barr gave a report on attending combination camp for barrel racing, roping and team penning last summer at Everwind Ranch. Throughout the meeting, members learned the rules for different disciplines of riding and how to ensure their horse's safety while hauling. Cayla McMillian, scrapbooker, took pictures of these events.

The members concluded their second fund raiser this year with a Christmas cookie sale. They will have their Christmas Party Dec. 12 at Sheffield United Methodist Church.
