ALBERT SECHRIEST

Albert F. Sechriest, 87, of Greeley St., Bear Lake, Pa., died on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Corry Memorial Hospital.

Albert was born on July 29, 1925 in Bear Lake, Pa., a son of the late Clarence E. and Iva Polly Sechriest.

He was raised and educated in Bear Lake and graduated from Panama Central High School in 1943. Following graduation, he entered the U. S. Navy on July 9, 1943 and served as a Gunner's Mate, third class, during WWII. Following his discharge on March 18, 1946, he began working for Norquist Products in Jamestown, NY. Later, he worked for Fay W. Flanders, building contractors, for many years followed by selfcontracting for several years. Albert retired from the Warren State Hospital in the finishing department on July 29, 1988.

Albert was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Panama, NY, and a member of the Corry VFW Post #264. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, bowling, snowmobiling, gardening, carpentry and wood working.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by a sister, Irene M. Mutt and three brothers; Clarence L., Ronald L., and Clifford E. Sechriest.

Albert is survived by his wife, Emily E. Komenda Sechriest, whom he married on May 29, 1948 in St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, Corry, Pa., and by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service there at 11 a.m. Rev. Monsignor Joseph M. Dowdell and Rev. Gary Nutt will offiicate.

Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Niboe, NY.
