Otters fire coach

Robbie Ftorek was fired as the head coach of the Erie Otters on Thursday, shortly after the team's fourth straight loss. Ftorek's replacement, Kris Knoblauch was signed to a two-year contract, shortly after the dismissal.

Ftorek was 139-184-15-13 overall with a 4-12 mark in three playoff appearances for the Otters since his hiring on October 29, 2007. The Otters are just 17-67-5-6 since a prolonged rebuilding effort began two seasons ago.
