A big thank you to all who donated, volunteered and supported us during the craft and bake sale also at the senior expo for buying basket raffle tickets to support the center. Drawing for the basket will be Nov. 19.

Mystery lunches are on hold for the winter season and have been replaced by ramp bowling at Bowlaway lanes with lunch and a fun afternoon. The bus will pick you up at your door so call for reservations.

Plans are still being made for the NYC trip and Shenksville so watch for details

The Christmas Cookie Walk is Friday, December 7, in the Allegheny Community Center dining room from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This is your chance to shop by the dozen from a large assortment of homemade cookies. Wow, it's the perfect way to start the holiday season. Of course, the public is invited!

Kemp Scales, from Scales Law Offices, will present a program on Long Term Care, paying for assisted living and nursing home care and other available options. He will also present a basic overview of Medicaid and Veteran's Benefits. Everyone is invited to listen.

Exciting day trips: Riverside Christmas bus leaves CRI lot at 3:30 p.m., Dec. 1; TAWC bus to Erie, Salamanca Casino, Dec. 19. Please call 723-3237 for day trip details and sign-up.

Great overnight and extended trips: American Quilters Society Quilt show, Mar. 13-15, 2013; Wildwood, NJ, May 13-17, 2013; Baltic heritage trip, Aug. 17-Sept. 2, 2013; Western National Park trip, late May into June, 2013; New York City at Christmas, 2013. Questions about these trips should be made to Margaret Sleeman, trip coordinator, at 723-7143 or 730-9364. For costs and sign-up, please call 723-3237. ACC membership is required for these trips. This is a special reminder to all trippers that the ACC Trip Policy is available at the Center.

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

Lunches

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Dec. 3-7: hamburger hash Monday, chicken sandwich Tuesday, spaghetti Wednesday, fish Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
