After recently closing the book on one of the best four-year careers in Warren boys soccer program history, the accolades keep rolling in for Liam Boger.
First, Boger was named a Region 4 first-team all-star after helping the Dragons (14-5) to another region championship. It was Boger's third all-star nod after being named a second team all-star in both 2010 and 2011.
On Wednesday, Boger added another title to his ever increasing resume with his selection to the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association's 2012 Pennsylvania Male All-State soccer team. He is the third Dragon in the past five years to be selected to the team following Mark Schoenborn in 2008 and 2009 and Christian Harrington in 2011.

"It certainly is an outstanding honor to be included on the team," said Boger. "It really means a lot to me considering how much time I've put into the sport."
Boger has been playing soccer since starting up in the Warren County YMCA leagues when he was just six years old. All told, he has spent two thirds of his life on the soccer field.
"When I was younger, Rich Peterson really helped introduce me to the game and I just kind of fell in love with it," said Boger. "My dad (Paul) was also a big help in me getting to where I am. He was the one taking me all over the state and even the country making sure I had opportunities on the soccer field."
For the past four seasons, Boger has been leaving his mark on the Dragons' varsity soccer program. Boger holds the school record for combined steals and tackles in a career and scored or assisted on over 100 goals during his time in the blue and white. According to Boger, he finished his four-year career with 52 goals and 50 assists.
He also helped the team to its first District 10 Class AA Championship during the 2010 season. That game was on Boger's short list of his favorite high school soccer memories.
"That certainly ranks up there," he said. "I also enjoyed building the camaraderie with my teammates and coming out on top in those neck and neck games."
While high school may be coming to a close, it's likely Boger hasn't taken the soccer field for the last time. He's aiming to be the second Warren player in as many years to play soccer at the Division I level (Christian Harrington, Saint Francis).
"I've had contact with both Duquesne and La Salle - both Division I soccer programs." said Boger. "I'm hoping to make a decision early in the spring."
