Win at bridge
Winners in duplicate bridge play at the Warren County YMCA Monday were Lana Creal and Doug Megill, first with 30; Hal and Mary Conarro, second with 24.5; and Joann Hultquist and Connie Michell, third with 20.
'Prelude to Christmas'
On Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m., Hessel Valley Lutheran Church will hold its annual "Prelude To Christmas." This year Hessel Valley welcomes the "Old Time String Band" as their special guest. They play wonderful instrumental music and are heard regularly on Sunday afternoons at "The Crossing." Hessel Valley invites everyone to join them for a relaxing afternoon of music and a cookie reception following the program.
Auction in Garland
An auction will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Garland Community Center, 204 Extension Road, Garland. Doors will open at noon. Items to be auctioned include tools, toys, collectibles, food and more. All proceeds will benefit the Garland Community House Association/Community Center.
Book sale set
The Book Cellar at Warren Public Library will have an open house holiday special from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. All items will be half price.
Dance Sunday
The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Big Trout Inn, Weedville. The Mikey Dee Band of McKeesport will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For information, call Paul Leofsky at 563-7516.
