County fills two DHS positions

November 28, 2012

During a Monday afternoon meeting of the Warren County Salary Board, board members approved filling two positions within the county Department of Human Services.

Approval of a hire to fill a vacant position for a foster care and general protective services case manager was approved.

A candidate to fill a new position for a family group decision case manager was also approved.

Both positions are compensated at a salary of $26,832 per year with additional benefits.

Board members did not name the candidates approved to fill the openings as the candidates have not been notified they will be offered the positions.

Warren County Commissioner John Bortz commented on the upcoming county budgeting process following the meeting.

Bortz described this year's deliberations as "clearly the most challenging budget process we've been involved in."

He and fellow commissioners Stephen Vanco and John Eggleston cited reduced federal spending as the major source of challenges in the budget process.
