Warren and Eisenhower's girls soccer teams both suffered through losing seasons in 2012, but that doesn't mean the teams didn't have some outstanding individual performances during the year.
When region all-star teams were released on Wednesday, the Knights were rewarded with one first-team Region 3 all-star in standout Taylor Talasky while the Dragons had five Region 4 all-stars in all. Two Warren players were named to the first team - Kaitlin Ishman and Sabrina Anderson and three more - Jaimie Eaton, Erica Blair and Reid Yarzabek were named to the second team.

Talasky's Knights finished the season with a 6-8-2 record, but were much improved on offense with a total of 36 goals being scored compared to 27 in 2011. Talasky was a big reason for the offensive explosion, accounting for 23 of the goals in her final season for the blue and gold.
For Warren, the Dragons one offensive and one defensive first team selection in Ishman and Anderson respectively. Ishman led the Dragons (8-10) with 12 goals on the season. Anderson, who had run cross country in previous fall seasons, made the most of her one season in soccer, finishing with one goal and playing strong defensively for Warren. Both players are seniors.
All three Region 4 second-team selections for Warren were also seniors. Eaton and Blair finished the campaign with eight goals each and were named as offensive all-stars. Yarazbek's defensive efforts didn't go unnoticed by region coaches and she was credited with a defensive all-star nod.
