Christian Connection has its annual auction

November 20, 2012
The Times Observer

Warren Women's Christian Connection recently held a "One Man's treasure" luncheon. Speaker Jeanne Breznicki of Pittsburgh grew up in a large family with mentally challenged siblings. At a very young age, she was unhappily married and had a baby. The baby was "adopted out." Jeanne attended a Bible study which dramatically changed her life and that of her husband. Her faith was tested with the death of two sisters. But, she allowed God to direct her life which helped her to survive the sudden death of her husband. She started the Allegheny County Retarded Children's center, which is now a part of "Achieva" in Pittsburgh. After 44 years, the daughter she "adopted out" contacted her. Jeanne says "Never stop praying! Never give up! God answer prayers"

Jeanne has had a life of accepting and embracing the unexpected. She feels very blessed by God.

A special moment was taken to honor the life of Verna Mae Phelps who recently died. She was a dedicated Christian and active member of Christian Women's Connection.

Geri Fox conducted the annual country auction. Proceeds help the world-wide Stonecroft ministries. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month for lunch. It is non-denominational. All women are welcome. There are no dues.
