Warren

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. On Nov. 16, Warren County Sheriff's Deputies received a report of an intoxicated male in a corridor on the second floor of the Warren County Courthouse near the rear entrance of the main courtroom. The deputies allegedly found Herbert Proctor Jr. under the influence of an unknown substance. Proctor was in possession of a Schrade "Extreme Survival Knife", he removed the knife from his pocket and threw it on the floor. Deputies confiscated the knife and placed Proctor in a holding cell. Proctor became disorderly, yelling, screaming and kicking the holding cell in the booking area of the Warren County Prison, requiring deputies and Prison staff to respond. Damage to the cell door was estimated at $3,000. Warren County Sheriff's Office filed criminal charges of possession of firearm or other dangerous weapon in a court facility, institution vandalism, public drunkenness and similar misconduct, and disorderly conduct charges. Proctor was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Laura Bauer and place in the Warren County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Youngsville

Theft. The Youngsville Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the United Methodist Church. According to police, $100 dollars was taken from a purse that was inside the church. The purse was later found at approximately 8:15 p.m. outside the front doors of the church. Anyone with information is asked to contact Youngsville Police at 563-7555 or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Brokenstraw Twp.

Warren-based state police report a crash occurred Nov. 15 at 9:46 p.m. on Rte. 6 near an unnamed road in Brokenstraw Twp. According to police, David Fleming, 32 of Clymer, NY was traveling east on Rte. 6 when a deer ran out in front of him and the vehicle struck the deer causing disabling damage to the vehicle. Neither Fleming nor his passenger were injured. Fleming was cited for license, inspection, and registration violations.
