Sugar Grove Elementary School held its annual Knights tailgate day with the Eisenhower High School senior football players and cheerleaders during its Halloween Party on Oct. 31. The entire school was excited to have the Eisenhower Marching Band on hand.

After lunch, the marching band entertained all the students of SGES by performing musical numbers from its half time show in the school front yard. Parents and members of the community came out to enjoy the performance. The marching band then led the annual SGES Halloween Parade throughout the town. The band was followed by the football team and cheerleaders and then the entire SGES school. The group paraded on Wilson, Main, Pleasant, and School streets. Thank you to all those in the community and the businesses who came out to give all students a Halloween treat.

Upon arrival back at SGES, all students in grades K through four had their Halloween parties. The fifth grade each year is treated to a tailgate sports day with the Knights players and cheerleaders.

There were punt pass and kick competitions, cheerleader mini-training sessions, and games of football played with the Knights seniors coaching the SGES future football players.

Winning the punt pass and kick competition were: fourth grade girls: 1st: Morgan Kellogg; 2nd: Heather Sydlik. For 4th grade boys: 1st: Riley Cataldo and 2nd: Owen Trumbull.

The winners for the fifth grade girls: 1st: Emiley Wheeler and 2nd: Nevaeh Hamilton; for the 5th grade boys: 1st: Dakota Chase and 2nd: Kyle Coons

Winning the final football game was the team led by Knights quarterback Aaron Lundmark. All teams were cheered on by the newly-trained future cheerleaders. Thank you to all the parents who also provided a tailgate snack for each group as they participated in the football activities.
