Of Somerset, husband of Patricia Moore Vogt, entered into rest Monday, November 5, 2012 in Buffalo General Hospital. Alfred was born on October 1, 1927 in Erie, PA. Son of the late George and Emma Thorton Vogt. Al served in the Army Air Corp. from 1945 to 1947. He retired from General Motors as an electrician. Al was Past Master of the Somerset Masonic Lodge. He worked on the Niagara Power Project. Al was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army for several years and on the Town Planning Board from October 14, 1980 December 11, 2007. Al was also an avid fisherman and hunter. Father of Pamela (Don) Coates, Judy (Rick) Rupezyk, Kathy (Herb) Downs, Allen (Carolyn) Vogt, and Hilary "HiDee" (Kirk) Jaynes. Brother of Dick (Donna) Childs and Gertrude "Trudy" DeVore. Al was loved by many grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the RUTLAND CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1708 Pallister Ave., Barker, NY 14012 on THURSDAY 2 4PM and 6 8PM. Funeral services will be held at West Somerset Baptist Church, 1876 Hosmer Rd. Appleton, NY 14008 on FRIDAY at 11AM. Burial will be held at Somerset Cemetery after the luncheon. In lieu of flowers: Donations to Barker Fire, 1660 Quaker Rd., Barker, NY 14012, Somerset Lions Club, or Somerset Conservation Club, Johnson Creek Rd., Barker, NY 14012.
