The Sheffield Area Hospitality Center draws members from as far away as Kane, Ridgway and DuBois. They come to spend time with their friends to laugh and have a good time. Members spend their time at the center playing cards, shooting pool, exercising, playing games on the Wii or just reading and having conversation. We provide medical and educational programs such as blood sugar testing, blood pressure screening, etc., through Prime Time Health monthly. We also offer PACE, property and rent rebate forms, and free VITA for income tax filing by appointment from February through April 15.
We take regular trips to places both in and outside of the area, shopping, attending plays, dinners and sharing picnics together. Away trips are planned vacations where all are welcome. We travel by motor coach, air, and even cruises are enjoyed by all.
Every day brings fresh faces and good times to the center. It is not unusual to have as many as 45 to 50 people for hot lunches.
The center would like everyone age 55 and older to be aware of its existence for more than 40 years now so they too can spend time with happy and positive peers. No one older than 55 is excluded; even those who are unable to drive can visit the center because our TAWC bus is available to drive anywhere in the county. The senior center staff truly wants people to share in the good times and are happy to send transportation for members who cannot drive themselves.
No one should have to be alone. The Sheffield Area Hospitality Center is available to all persons. "The More the Merrier." Come try us. We are open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For those who give to the United Fund, you too play an important part in making our Sheffield Area Hospitality Center a success. Thank you for helping us help them SMILE.
