Penn-Liberty intersection closed Tuesday

November 5, 2012
The Times Observer

The intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Liberty Street in Warren will be closed for paving Tuesday.

According to City Department of Public Works Director Mike Holtz, the intersection will be close from about 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Lakeshore Paving of Jamestown, N.Y., will handle the work.

The paving job will include the intersection and about 60 additional feet east on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Paving the entire area at once, rather than leaving the intersection open to some traffic, allows for a smoother, better job, Holtz said.

The intersection may be bypassed by taking Second or Third avenues westbound from Market Street or Third Avenue eastbound from Hickory Street.
