Dear editor,
Yesterday's Reader's Forum (10/30/12) contained, among others, two letters regarding the upcoming choices to be made for President. I found it interesting, but not surprising, that the letter supporting one candidate contended that "minority groups...hippies, gays, etc." would "stack the Supreme Court" due to the fact (?) that "all of Obama's close friends are either socialists or Marxists".
The letter supporting the other candidate, not surprisingly, put forth a platform with clear details as to how their candidate would attempt to address the serious problems the U.S. faces.
Different people vote their conscious, their religious beliefs, their economic situation, even their straight ticket; however I would hope that in this day and age, few people vote due to fear-mongering.
Sincerely,
S. Robert Blume, Clarendon
