On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Elk Township Historical Society held its closing event for the "Images of Elk Township" 2012 photography contest. It took great pride in announcing and congratulating its winners for the People's Choice Awards. The categories and award recipients were as follows: People Jeremy Jewell; Vintage co-winners: Patti DiPenti and Jene Haupin; Nature Debbie Becklund; Floral Debbie Fitzsimmons; Animals Jene Haupin; and Vintage Jene Haupin.
It is time to begin thinking about 2013 and taking the opportunities to capture those special photographic moments in Elk Township in the following categories: Holidays, Seasons, People, Work and Play, Animals, and Black and White. A special seventh category has been added to next year's contest entitled Anything, Anytime, Anywhere. The society anticipates another wonderful year to display great talent and skill.
