Skyler Wolfe is an underdog, like his father before him.
Jim Hoffner was good at it, refusing to back down from wrestlers who were 50 pounds heavier.
Wolfe talks of his father as if having the blood of the former PIAA state champion from Youngsville High School makes him who he is - an underdog. And Skyler's good at it, too.

Wolfe has had an extremely important role for a team that won a region championship last year but has suffered through injury after injury in a 1-8 season in 2012.
Mr. Everywhere.
"I have played wide receiver, tight end, left tackle, left guard, running back, safety and linebacker," said Skyler, who didn't start playing football until the eighth grade.
But when he started, he put every ounce of himself into the sport.
"When I had a chance to play outside of lineman, I was just so excited to show everyone what I could do," he said.
If anyone told him he couldn't catch, he'd prove them wrong.
If anyone told him he wasn't fast enough, he'd prove them wrong.
"I knew what I could do from what I did playing in the back yard," he said.
It's the blood pumping through his veins.

A little "Q & A" with Skyler Wolfe:
Q: Who are your parents and siblings, and what sports do you play?
A: Jim and Amy Hoffner, no siblings and football is my only sport.
Q: You are a jack-of-all-trades on the gridiron. How many different positions have you played just this season for Youngsville football? How and why did you end up being moved around so frequently, and is it something you take pride in being able to do?
A: I have played wide receiver, tight end, left tackle, left guard, running back, safety, and linebacker - injuries and to match different schemes of the opposing teams. I do take pride in being able to help my team out in any way.
Q: You guys were obviously region champions last year; tell me what last year's experience meant to you and what do you take pride in most from this year's team?
A: The experience last year was unbelievable, and I take the most pride (this year) in being able to help out the younger guys to become the best they can be.
Q: What are you involved in outside of sports?
A: I enjoy hanging out with friends and four-wheeling.
Q: What do you want to do after high school? College?
A: I am currently looking into technical schools; I would like to be an electrician.
Q: What will you miss most about Youngsville High School?
A: I am going to miss hanging out with all my friends all the time, and playing Youngsville football.
Q: Why did you decide to play football as late as your eighth-grade year? What position or positions did you play back then?
A: I wasn't really into sports until two of my teammates got me into football. I played right tackle and defensive tackle.
Q: Who is your inspiration and why?
A: My inspiration is my dad Jim Hoffner because I am going through some of the obstacles he had to go through in life and he succeeded on being the heavyweight state wrestling champion.
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years or 20 years? What impact has sports had, do you think, on where you will end up and who you will be?
A: I see myself having a good career and a family of my own. Football has shown me so many life lessons. I am so thankful to have the coaches I have had. Football is a great team sport and helps kids stay on track.
