Warren

Escapee captured. Acting on a tip, Warren County Sheriff's deputies apprehended James Robert Sorensen at 443 Jacob Ln., North Warren, on Oct. 29.. Sorensen, an inmate at Warren County Jail, had absconded from a work detail earlier in the day. Probation Department personnel took Sorensen into custody at the residence.

Violation of probation. Warren County Adult Probation Department officials reported on Oct. 30 that David E. Cuttler, 57, Warren, was arrested on charges of violation of probation. Acting on a tip, officers responded to Cuttler's residence looking for James R. Sorensen, an escaped inmate from Warren County Jail. Officers discovered Sorensen hiding in a bedroom. Cuttler was taken into custody and committed to Warren County Jail. Cuttler was originally placed on Intermediate Punishment on the charge of DUI .

Brokenstraw Twp.

Indecent assault. Warren-based state police reported that between 11 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 22, Bradley Adam Cooper, 22, Youngsville, was alleged to have assaulted a known 44-year-old female from Youngsville at a residence in Youngsville. Police said Cooper has been charged with indecent assault, false imprisonment and harassment. Police said Cooper is also on probation with Warren County Probation Department and has been listed as wanted for a violation of probation. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Cooper is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Eldred Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 9:50 a.m. on Oct. 30 on Route 27, northeast of Sanford Road. According to police, Matthew D. Gates, 35, Corry, was traveling east on Route 27 and drifted onto the southern berm and into a ditch. Police said his trailer portion of his 2004 Peterbilt tractor trailer rolled onto its right side, striking the embankment and twisting the frame. It then continued in an easterly direction for approximately 225 feet along the ditch and embankment. Police said it came to a rest facing east with the tractor being upright and the trailer portion laying on its right side facing east. Police said Gates was charged with roadways laned for traffic.
