Dear editor,
We Americans have two very different options come November 6. With that in mind, I am anxious to explain some of the things that motivate me and why I go public with provocative messages on the Edgewood Motel signs.
We seasoned citizens remember well the horrors of communism in the USSR (Union of Soviet Republic). The government grew and grew and grew some more and the common people became very insignificant. I well remember my parents, living in Garland, talking about mass starvation in the Ukraine, the bread basket of the USSR. What happened was that the central government confiscated the bulk of the grains harvested and the food produced, leaving very little for the farmers and their families.
Farmers soon lost heart and production tumbled dramatically. Deliberately imposed starvation, by the central government, was their punishment. Millions died!
We will now skip to the end of World War II. I well remember my mother, deeply depressed and frequently in tears, lamenting the fact that we had lost all contact with her mother in Poland. Mother even questioned whether she should have migrated to America because perhaps she could have helped care for her mother. Two years later we finally learned that my grandmother and many other elderly, infirm and disabled had been seen being loaded into box cars, by the Russian occupiers, destined for the barren frozen waste land called Siberia. Those poor souls were never heard from again.
My political education really got a shot in the arm in 1974 when I was transferred from the Kennedy Space Center to the Ground Space Flight Center in Maryland. While there I joined a 1000 member VFW post at Lanham, MD. I accepted the position of Chairman of the Americanism Committee and absolutely loved it. I was shocked to learn that the Washington Post was our main detractor. Every patriotic demonstration that we supported in Washington was downplayed by the media. It was at that time that I put 2 and 2 together by recalling Prime Minister Krushchev blurting out "we will bury you from within" while visiting the NYC World's Fair with President Nixon. Since then the global socialist solicited the support of minority groups, labor unions, hippies, gays, etc. to unite and take control of our government.
It is not by accident that all of Obama's close friends are either socialists or Marxist. The global socialists are very excited. They only need to hold on to the U.S. Senate, re-elect Obama, stack the Supreme Court and victory is theirs. It is up to the voters to see that that does not happen.
Most sincerely,
Paul G. Leofsky
