On Oct. 13 and 14, on the grounds of Saint Joseph Church, 61 students and nine adults from St. Joseph and Holy Redeemer churches spent 4:30 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday living outside in cardboard boxes and eating at a soup kitchen. The event, organized by Betsy Williams, was to raise awareness for homelessness. The students raised money for A Safe Place, a shelter for women and children. Terri Allison, coordinator at A Safe Place, spoke at the event. Pictured is a student from the Cool Catholic Youth Group crawling out of her home Sunday morning.
