Positive test
for rabies
An aggressive skunk attacked two dogs outside an home along Route 957 in Farmington Township recently, according to a press release from the state Department of Agriculture.
Pennsylvania Game Commission officials sent the skunk's body to the Pennsylvania Veterinary Laboratory in Harrisburg, where it tested positive for rabies.
The two dogs, which had been vaccinated for rabies, received a booster shot and are quarantined for 90 days.
Pennsylvania law requires all dogs and non-feral cats three months of age and older to be vaccinated against rabies. Booster vaccinations must be administered periodically to maintain life-long immunity. Failure to comply with the law may result in a fine up to $300.

There is a fee for each course, which will be held at the Red Cross office, 305 Market St.
