DOROTHY STIMMELL

Dorothy Jean Stimmell, 86, of 615 Rouse Ave., Apt. 106, Youngsville, Pa., and formerly of Route 337, Warren, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Rouse Home.

Dorothy was born October 5, 1926, in Jefferson, Pa., Green County, the daughter of the late Clancy I. and Florence Ewart Murray. She was a graduate of the JeffersonMorgan High School where she participated in track, and later moved to Warren.

Foremost, Dorothy was a homemaker and a mother, although she also worked for the Warren County School District in Food Service and drove a school van for special needs children. She was a member of the former First Baptist Church, and more recently the Pleasant Community Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, travel, hummingbirds, and her dog Toby. Dorothy especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Stimmell, Youngsville, Pa., whom she married on June 14, 1947; one son Daniel M. Stimmell and his wife Robin, Warren, Pa., two daughters Peggy Peterson and her husband Daniel, Warren, Pa., and Patricia Lane and her husband Douglas, Butler, Pa.; one brother, Clancy Allen Murray, Jefferson, Pa.; four grandsons, Timothy Stimmell and his wife Mendy, Spotsylvania, VA, Michael Stimmell and his wife Amy, Warren, Pa., Eric Peterson and his wife Stacy, Cary, NC, and Scott Schuler and his wife Lacey, Warren, Pa.; one granddaughter, Amanda Wellner and her husband Ryan, Warren, Pa.; eight greatgrandchildren, Elexia, Elaina, and Elijah Stimmell, Emma and Haley Stimmell, Hayden and Ainsley Schuler, Lillian Wellner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arlie D. Murray; and a sister, Ruth Adamson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, October 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, October 27 from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Michael Poindexter pastor, Pleasant Community Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Warren County Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365, or the Friends of the Rouse Home, 701 Rouse Ave., Youngsville, PA 16371, or the Alzheimer's Disease Re search Center, 1128 State St., Ste. 301, Erie, PA 16501.
