The Times Observer

In Tuesday's Times Observer in a story on tax-exempt assessment hearings, it was reported that a 501(c)(13) cemetery cannot accept tax-deductible contributions. Contrary to the statement made by an accountant representing a cemetery, the 501(c)(13) allows for tax-deductible contributions, if they are made to the care of the cemetery as a whole, not dedicated to a specific plot.
