Recent food service inspections listed

The City of Warren has released October food inspection results.

The following inspections have been completed and the following establishments have valid licenses until Oct. 31, 2013:

Hog Wild BBQ, 402 Chestnut St., no violations

Kwik-Fill, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. E., no violations

Conewango Club, 201 Market St., one non-critical violation - appliances need cleaned

Choice, 215 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations

Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., one non-critical violation - thermometer not provided in all refrigerators

The following six-month inspections were completed in October:

Bi-Lo, 4 Market St., no violations

Shur-Fine, 1613 Pennsylvania Ave. E. no violations

Dollar General, 444 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations

Wellness Cafe & Coffee Shop, 340 Pennsylvania Ave. W., one non-critical violation - multiple flies present in kitchen area

Brickhouse Cafe is closed for business.

The Department of Agriculture recently inspected the following establishments:

Beaty-Warren Middle School, 2 E. Third Ave., one violation - observed dust build up on the back fins of the fans of walk-in cooler 4. PIC stated a work order will be placed.

Columbus Elementary School, 100 W. Main St., Columbus, no violations

Dairy Queen, 1067 Market St., no violations

Hummingbird Cafe, 123 Main St., Tidioute, one violation - observed wet wiping cloths in food preparation area, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Fixed during time of inspection

Kwik Fill Food Mart, 4170 Market St., one violation - walk-in freezer has build up of frozen condensate and debris. Clean immediately. Overhead evaporator unit in the walk in cooler has an accumulation of dust build up. Product stored below th unit need to be removed until unit is clear

Miller's Candy Shop, 3405 Lanning Hill Rd., Sugar Grove, two violations - there were 12 jars of home canned marinara sauce offered for sale from retail display, which owner states were prepared in an uninspected home kitchen, there was an extremely full fly ribbon near the front desk above pre-packed candy offered for retails ale. PIC removed the fly ribbon during the inspection.

PSCFT, 90 Main St., Tidioute, two violations - internal product temperature of house-made meat chili stored in plastic sealed gallon container indicating 44.7 degrees Farenheit, PIC states that product was initially cooked in zip lock bags, but no monitoring of cooling was done. Review both cooking procedure with PIC. Other products in the cooler indicated 38 degrees Farenheit, ensuring the refrigerator unit was working properly, thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible

Sheffield Area Middle High School. 6700 Route 6, Sheffield, no violations

Sheffield Elementary School, 222 Pickering St., Sheffield, no violations

South Street Early Learning Center, 713 Pennsylvania Ave. E., no violations

Sugar Grove Elementary School, 1 School St., Sugar Grove, no violations

Warren Area Elementary Center, 349 E. Fifth Ave., no violations

Warren Area High School, 345 E. Fifth Ave., two violations - lack of a backflow prevention device on the threaded bib hose line in the dishwash area, observed a dry, social wiping cloth stored on a paper towel dispenser above the two basin sink. PIC removed soiled cloth during the inspection

Warren County Career Center, 347 E. Fifth Ave., one violation - there is an accumulation of dust on the back of the evaporator unit in the walk-in cooler. PIC stated unit will be cleaned by the end of the day.
