William C. Chase, Sr., 73, of Sugar Grove, Pa., passed away Sunday, October 21st, at Golden Living Center Kinzua. He was born in Sugar Grove, Pa on September 10, 1939, a son of the late Margaret (Hemminger) and Guy Chase.
William had worked in the heater department at Valeo in Jamestown, New York, retiring in 2000. He had also worked at Marv's Quaker State in Sugar Grove part time for 28 years. William was a lifetime member of the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, a member of Lander Volunteer Fire Department, a former Sugar Grove Boro Council Member, and a member of Local 2105 the IAM (International Association of Machinists). He will be remembered for his love for attending auctions, spending time at his camp, his sideline of selling cheese and pepperoni and also selling tires. William especially loved his antique car and truck and snowmobiling in years past. He will be greatly missed at the Akeley Diner where he went every day, and where management named a burger after him, "The Billy Burger".
He was the widower of Elizabeth (Wilson) Chase who died July 22, 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Darren Chase July 5, 2010 and a brother, Robert Chase in April of 2000.

Surviving are 3 sons, William (Linda) Chase, Jr., of Warren; Michael (Ruth) Chase, of Russell; Bradley (Danielle) Chase, of Russell; a brother, James (Bev) Chase, of Russell; a sister, Pat (Freddie) Rivera, of Jamestown, NY; and a sisterin law, Betty Chase of Sugar Grove, Pa.; 8 grandchildren, Jacob (Carrie), Alicia, Courtney, Jordan, Wyatt, Benjamin, Jessica, and Jenna Chase; a special friend, Rosalie Logue, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 2 4 and 7 9 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Main St. in Sugar Grove. A funeral service will be held at the Lander United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24th, with Pastor Wade Barto officiating. Graveside Services will be held immediately following the church service at Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove.
