Our fall Thanksgiving basket is on display and will be raffled Nov. 19. The basket will be on display at Senior Expo and Sheffield Craft and Bake sale. Many thanks to all who donated so many wonderful items.

Bon Ton community day booklets will be on sale to help benefit our center. The books are only $5 and there are coupon savings worth more than $400.

This is a special reminder that next Friday, October 26, is the 2012 Senior Expo. Hold that date! Sponsored by Warren/Forest Eldercare Council, this annual event is held at the Warren Mall located on Route 62 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will feature more than 60 vendors representing a wide variety of health-related organizations and businesses. There is free hearing testing, blood pressure testing, pulse oxygen testing and flu shots for Medicare consumers (there's a fee if you don't have Medicare). The Eldercare Council will provide coffee in the morning as well as hot dogs, sloppy joes, snacks, desserts and beverages for lunch. There's plenty of parking space at the Warren Mall or you can get transportation to the Mall by calling TAWC at 723-1874. Have a great day!!

Great overnight and extended trips: Niagara-on-the-Lake trip, Oct. 25-26; Baltic heritage trip, Aug. 17-Sept. 2, 2013. This is a special reminder to all trippers that the ACC Trip Policy is available at the Center.

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

Lunches

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Oct. 22-26: parmesan chicken Monday, barbecued ham sandwich Tuesday, fish Wednesday, meat and cheese sub Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
