"Cruisin' for Cancer"

It has been a little over a week now since the first annual WGH Auxiliary motorcycle dice run "Cruisin' for Cancer", and the final tallies are in and many thank yous need to be expressed. Although the weather was not cooperative, the participants were generous and enthusiastic and the Auxiliary was able to add to their $150,000 pledge fund for the WGH Cancer Care Center renovation project.

Special mention needs to go to the following area individuals and businesses who donated to the success of this hospital auxiliary benefit project: the Lumberjack Steak & Seafood Restaurant in Ridgeway, the Fuel On Gas Station in Emporium and the Hub Gas Station in Smethport who all provided stops for the dice run on October 6; the United Refinery company, Howe's True Value, the Holiday Inn of Warren and Faith Thomas of Warren Curves who all donated prizes for the dice run; the many auxiliary members who donated their time at the registration table, the tally table, at the various "dice stops" along the route and who provided desserts for the evening dinner. A very special shout out goes to the Warren Eagles Club that provided the use of the club for the registration site and a very generous donation. The food from Eagles club employees Joanie Nichols and Willie Dexter was delicious and a perfect ending to the day.

Kudos to all!

Sue Ann Perrin, WGH Auxiliary
