Eisenhower boys cross country teammates Anthony Amroski, left, and Devin VanGuilder have paced each other all season, including in a quad meet against three New York high school teams last week in Jamestown, N.Y. Amroski won a very competitive meet in 16 minutes, 50 seconds - one second ahead of Allegheny-Limestone's Owen Barber and two seconds ahead of VanGuilder. The trio was one minute and 26 seconds ahead of the fourth-place finisher. Amroski is the Times Observer Male Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's. A little ways from Eisenhower High School, there's another duo, above, pacing the Youngsville volleyball team. Kennedy, right, and Karissa Cratty - identical twin sisters- have helped the Lady Eagles battle through a very tough region, with three of possibly the top five Class A teams in the district in Maplewood, Cochranton and Saegertown. Last week, Karissa had 24 digs and Kennedy 11 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 win over Rocky Grove. On Saturday, Kennedy finished with 54 digs, 19 kills and seven blocks for Youngsville, which was 3-5 in pool play games and advanced to the semifinals of the Kane Tournament. Karissa had 48 digs, nine kills and eight blocks there. The twin Crattys are the Times Observer Female Athletes of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's.
