On Friday, Oct. 12, the Suites at Rouse hosted and opening reception of the Eighth Annual Henry Rouse Permanent Collection Art Show. Artists, community members, residents and employees enjoyed hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Suites' culinary staff as they viewed the pieces of artwork selected for the show by juror Judith Blank.
Top honors were awarded to three entries this year, in addition to five "honorable mention" awards. Winning first prize, with an oil painting entitled "Bell Jar with Apples," was Mark Davis. Second prize was awarded to Diane DeLarme's acrylic work "Veranda on the Bay," and third prize went to Donna Nelson, who submitted a mixed media piece entitled "My Kind of Heaven."
The art show is open to the public until Friday, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. For more information, call 563-1650.
