Sandra E. Lucas Krol, age 66, of Harborcreek, Pa. passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, at UPMC Hamot. Born November 25, 1945 at Hamot Hospital in Erie and a lifelong resident of Erie, she was the youngest daughter of the late Norris J. and Pearl E. Taft Lucas.
On April 9, 1965, Sandy married her husband, Robert J. Krol, who survives. She is further survived by two sons: Robert J. Krol, wife Laura J., of Harrisburg, Pa. and Steven J. Krol of Erie; three granddaughters: Sarah J. and Emily J. of Harrisburg and Cassidy of Erie; two brothers, Norris J. Lucas, wife Frannie, of Norway, Mi. and James R. Lucas, wife Kay, of Florence, Az.; a sister, Mary E. Lucas Carlson of Iron Mountain, Mi.; two brothersinlaw, Tom Krol, wife Nancy, of Ocala, Fla. and Joe Krol of Erie; and a sisterinlaw, Agatha Roach, of Erie. She is also survived by many friends, nieces and nephews and her most loyal and loving friend, Pamela Pierce of Fairview, Pa., who she has shared so much laughter, joy, and tears with over many years.
She loved spending time with family, her granddaughters, and many friends at the Mercy Hilltop Center playing cards, especially her special friend John Matz. Sandy and her husband Bob spent as much time as they could at their cottage in Tidioute, Pa. which they have had for the last 24 years. They enjoyed bingo and great conversations with friends Diane Jamison, Donna and Chuck Swartz, and Bob and Helen Williams of Tidioute. Sandy worked for 33 years at GE before retiring in May of 2006.
