ACC class

The Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St. will hold a class on how to make a beaded safety pin watch on Wednesday, Nov. 7th from 5-7 p.m.. Cost is $23 per watch and will be a fall color. This is open to the public and you must sign up no later than Oct. 24. Please call 723-3237 for reservations. These are gorgeous watches and a really nice gift idea!

Self defense

Fighting Tigers Martial Arts will be featuring a free Women's Self Defense Clinic on Saturday, Oct.27 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Participants will learn how to use the body's natural weapons to defend themselves, learn simple but effective ways to defeat punches, grabs and holds, how to avoid dangerous situations, how to react in a confrontation, use an ancient Japanese weapon modified as a harmless key holder, and learn the legal aspects of self defense. This clinic is an excellent class for college bound students and great for mom and daughter teams. Class size is limited so Call 723-2358 to register and reserve a spot.

Pancake dinner

A pancake dinner will be held at the Chandlers Valley Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for ages seven and under.

The Warren High School Class of 1952 will meet for breakfast at Perkins on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. All classmates, spouses and companions are invited.

The Youngsville High School Class of 1954 will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. at Richard's Restaurant in Youngsville.

Luncheon group

The Bon Ton Luncheon Group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 12:30 at Richard's Restaurant in Youngsville.

Cemetery meeting

The Youngsville Cemetery lot owners will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall.

Winners in Woman's Club Bridge Thursday were Beverly Nix, first, and Carol Lake, second.

Philomel to meet

The Philomel Club of Warren will have a Mozart Club program at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Sheldon House in Jamestown, N.Y. Chairperson will be Rosalind Hupp. Performers will be Rosalind Hupp, Joan Eighmey, Nancy Palmer and Mary Beth Whiting.

Guest speaker

The Sheffield Senior Center will host guest speaker Kemp Scales of the Scales Law Offices on Thursday Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. The program will be on long term care, paying for assisted living, nursing home care, other available options, and a basic overview of Medicaid and Veteran's benefits.
