WATTSBURG - Warren County Christian School ended its 2012 volleyball regular season a perfect 14-0 with a quick three-set victory over Christian Life Academy on Friday.
The Lady Lions, already the New Penn Christian Conference regular season champions, will be the top seed in the season-ending tournament which gets underway next week. WCCS has a bye in the first round of the tournament and will play its first tournament game at 7 p.m. Friday at Cranberry Area High School.
According to coach Monica Kerr, WCCS played a "very strong team game" in defeating CLA by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-10. Kaitlyn Weidner led the winners with 14 service points, eight aces, five kills, two blocks and 15 assists and Caitlin McCall added 11 service points and two aces.
Allyssa Kerr added 10 service points, five aces and five kills, Jessica Lauffenburger finished with seven service points, four aces and five kills, Dymphee Zortman chipped in eight service points, four aces and six kills, Whitney Poindexter had three service points, two aces and four kills and Alivia Kelsey had eight digs.
WCCS finished the match with 25 aces.
The Lady Lions won the junior varsity match in three sets, 25-7, 12-25, 15-8. Allison Weidner had eight service points and two kills, Breona Chelton had six service points and Hunter Uplinger had six service points and three aces.
