At a jury trial in Warren County court Tuesday, a Sugar Grove man was found guilty of stealing a load of wood.
Andy S. Byler, 1370 Rounds Hill Rd., was found guilty of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and a summary defiant trespass.
Byler took a tri-axle load of red and white oak with an estimated value of $1,000 from Chris McKee.
He intentionally entered the 122 Egypt Hollow Rd. property that was posted against trespassing.
The maximum combined penalty facing Byler is five yards and 90 days in jail and $10,300 in fines. There are no mandatory sentences for the offenses.
Judge Gregory Hammond heard the case, Assistant District Attorney Barry Klenowski was the prosecutor, and Assistant Public Defender Alan Conn represented Byler.
